Visiting Professors (Scholars) for EMSHIP

Master Course in “Advanced Ship Design”

Academic year 2011-2012 until 2014-2015


We are looking for visiting professors for the EMSHIP European Education Program (www.emship.eu), which provides high education in Naval Architecture and Ship Design by advanced courses in: Ship Technology; Ship Structure; Ship Hydrodynamics; Ship Design and Research activities. 


The Student Mobility Scheme of EMSHIP is the following:

Semester 1: Liege, Belgium
University of Liege (ULG): Ship Design and Ship Structure

Semester 2: Nantes, France
Ecole Centrale de Nantes (ECN): Advanced Ship Hydrodynamics and Initiation to Research Activities and Methodology.

Semester 3: Romania, Italy, Germany or Poland
Advanced lectures, Master Thesis and Internships
  • Galati (UGAL, Romania): Manoeuvrability and Propulsion
  • Genoa (UNIGE, Italy): Sailing Yacht and Motor Yacht
  • Rostock (URO, Germany): Ship Production, CAD, Information
  • Technology, Offshore Technology
  • Szczecin (ZUT, Poland): Advanced Ship Structures

According to EMSHIP Master Programme Management, we are looking for Visiting Professors (Scholars) able to contribute efficiently to the lectures.

Seeking Profile
1. Minimum: PhD.
2. Fields:

  • Economics of Maritime transport (priority)
  • Offshore structures (priority)
  • Management: Marine Industry, regulation bodies, class, IMO, ...
  • Ship theory - static and dynamic, propulsion, CFD
  • Design (ship and offshore structures)
  • Sailing yachts and motor yachts
  • Strength assessment & Structure analysis (ship and offshore): vibration, composite mat ,...
  • Ship production & technology

3. Nationality: All except European nationalities because of the Emship Consortium components – European commission rules for EMMC.
4. No distinction of age and sex

Scholarship (all included): 1200 €/week, minimum duration: 1 month.
